For managing partners, COLPs, practice managers and COOs

A firm-wide AI programme your COLP can put in front of the SRA.

Built for firms of 20 to 300 fee earners without a Head of Legal AI. Practical sessions on the tools your people already use, built on how they actually use them.

Every fee earner gets an assessed seat. Your compliance officer gets a survey report, a needs analysis, a completion record and a written recommendation. In the recommended package your firm also gets golden rules and champions who carry it on after we leave.

The problem, in your words

Your fee earners are already using AI. Mostly in tools nobody approved.

The SRA's compliance tips, updated on 9 February 2026, expect the COLP to be responsible for regulatory compliance when new technology is introduced. The warning notice of 17 August 2026 says that supervisors remain accountable for work carried out through others, that the people you manage must be competent to carry out their role, and that any authority put before a court must be genuine, relevant and verifiable.

Your PII insurer will ask what controls you have. “We did a webinar” is not a control. A policy on its own is not a programme, trained champions and a record that would answer a regulator.

Staff are pasting client details into free AI tools because nobody has said what is allowed. That is a supervision failure before it is a technology one. The sources, quoted and dated →

The Lextrapolate framework

Four cohorts. Five outcomes. Every session tagged.

Four cohorts, because a partner, an associate, a paralegal and a finance manager need different things. Five learning outcomes, taken from the Law Society's own guidance on building an AI skill set. Every session tagged to the SRA Statement of Solicitor Competence.

Ask about a programme

A common objection

Why the training that came with your software is not this.

Vendor training teaches the product. It does not teach the duty, it is not independent, and it does not reach the tools your people actually use, which are the unapproved ones. The same is true of the training your knowledge or IT consultancy resells.

The vendors now advertise that their tool checks the citation. The regulator's position is that you do, regardless of the tool. We train the second thing.

Track record

What this has looked like so far.

Around 750 lawyers trained. Multi-stage training and compliance programmes for large legal businesses, run across several sessions with policy and governance work alongside; the policies were adopted, and individuals came back afterwards for one-to-one Elite Training.
